SOCIO-CULTURAL EVENT: “FESTIVAL 3+1”
“FESTIVAL 3+1” was realised in August 2009 in Letovice in the Czech Republic. The main structure of the project programme was divided into two main sections according the target groups for which it is primary intended. The programme parts of the festival were intellectually deeply wedded and connected through. All the programmes were opened for everyone, mainly wide public.
“All May B1” (be one) - International Summer Camp:
The name of the international summer camp was “All May B1” (be one), which concisely describes our belief, that all may be one notwithstanding age, race, religious persuasion and walk of life. This part of festival programme focused on the level of international cooperation among tutors (artists – Gen Rosso) and participants (youth). The target group of “All May B1” was composed of European youngsters coming from 5 EU partner countries: Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovak Republic. Each partner country sent pupils and adults to “All May B1”. The pupils came from 4 partner schools (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Germany) and from local schools of Letovice and Slovak Republic. Czech and German young volunteers also participated in the programme. Youth had possibility to choose from the workshops’ menu and were equally divided into the particular workshops in order to attain the aim of the trans-nationality and intercultural dialog. The programme of “All May B1” consisted of following parts:
- Non-formal Education: European Summer school for Youth “Together for Europe”: Interactive seminars made by professionals on the main theme “Together for Europe”, focused on the question of how youngsters can build connected Europe nowadays – for example a topic of “The financial crisis and us ”. Seminar was also opened for the other citizens of the City of Letovice.
- “I’ll B There” - International Workshops with Gen Rosso: Gen Rosso, International Performing Arts Group (www.genrosso.com) consists of 18 professional artists with great pedagogical skills who are travelling all over the world with their workshops and performances. Artists from Gen Rosso are coming from 10 countries all over the world (Europe: Italy, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, Africa: D. R. Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, Asia: Philippines, South America: Brazil, Argentina). They cooperated with youngsters in 13 different international workshops such as: Light, Sound, Musical Band and Orchestra, Rhythm and Guitars, Stage Setting and Design, Choirs, Theatre, Gang Dance, Hip-Hop Dance, Modern Dance, Brazilian Dance and Moderating. Workshops had international structure - youngsters were mixed in order to offer an opportunity for establishment the intercultural dialog and mutual understanding and solidarity.
- Public Musical Performance “Streetlight – One Europe, One Stage”: The international cooperation among artists and youth culminated in public musical performance. This musical was performed open air on big stage in front of the visitors of the festival on Friday 28/08/2009.
Civil Society Programme:
This programme was focused on local level of implementation the aims of the project “FESTIVAL 3+1”. The target group of the Civil Society Programme consisted of citizens of the City of Letovice, local NGO’s and representatives of non-profit sector, businessmen and representative of magistrate. Also European youth participated on these programmes and experienced the active way of life in local civil society on the international level (with participation of youth from Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovak Republic). This section included three main activities:
- Non-formal Education: Summer School for NGO’s: “20 years of Civil Society”: This was two-day conference organised on the occasion of twenty years of development of the civil society and the non-profit sector in the Eastern Europe.
- Exhibitions: Public Photography Exhibition; Public Exhibition and Presentation of “Strong without Violence” Projects.
- Public NGO’s Presentation: “Show Your Activity”: NGO’s from CZ came to present their activities and thus invited citizens to future cooperation. Youngsters from “All May B1” participated in the preparation and realisation of this event. This programme was mainly organised by local NGO’s. This section was connected also with programme for children and families.
